Clinton Congratulates Biden

Here's an email Hillary Clinton sent out about the selection of Joe Biden as Barack Obama's running mate:

Dear Tom,

I want to congratulate Joe Biden on becoming the vice presidential running nominee. Joe is a friend and colleague, a strong experienced leader and a devoted public servant. I look forward to not only seeing him in Denver next week but on the trail as I work to help Barack Obama and Joe Biden along with many other Democratic candidates campaign this fall.

Democrats are going to have a great and unified convention in Denver next week, and I can't wait to be there. I am looking forward to visiting my friends and colleagues from New York, stopping by events like the Emily's List reception, and doing everything I can to champion Barack Obama along the way. Of course, I will also be getting ready for my speech to the convention on Tuesday night. You can see for yourself by following my convention activities on our website at HillaryClinton.com, as well as on social networking sites such as Facebook, MySpace, and Twitter.

And I'm very excited to meet Joseph Gerou, a second grade teacher from Kenosha, Wisconsin, who won our contest and will be joining me in Denver. I am looking forward to hearing more from him and so glad he can join me for this historic event.

I can't thank everyone enough for your generous support over the past few weeks. It means so much to me personally to know that I can count on your continued friendship as I work hard to help elect Barack Obama and our other Democratic candidates in 2008. I wish you could all come with me to Denver. So I hope you will do the next best thing and stay tuned. Please keep coming back to the website to see all we are doing. I will be updating you regularly with photos, video, email and more.

This is going to be a week to remember filled with many memorable and exciting moments as Democrats come together. I hope you will join me in celebrating.

Thank you again for your hard work and your generous spirit.

Sincerely,

Hillary

The Biden announcement obviously put to end any speculation that Clinton might join Obama on the ticket.

She is taking the high road.  And she is continuing to push for unity.  We'll see how that works at the convention this week.

My posts from Denver begin Sunday night.

Thanks for reading.  TA

anyone that calls us a hater for not voting for Obama.I say your stupid.I has kids been in college for 6 years ,but i don't think i would vote for them to be president. And yes they have worked hard and yes they have helped in the community. What is the different.do you have kids in the service?would you want someone with no experice trying to tell them what to do?

Grandma

Obamma and his running mate sounds to much like osdabinlydin

Lindsey Botkin

I will not be voting for Obamma or his VP. I am glad he wasn't my commander and chief during the Vietnam War. He has no experience and it is a big mistake to vote him in as president and God help America if he does get in.

It is so sad when you hear people comment, so much personally ,about the choices on the Democratic ticket.Hillary Clinton has no more experience as Obama, now as you say what would it be like having two inexperienced people running the country? Obama made a good choice for the VP and Obama does have leadership qualities, who is judging?
To feel that because your choices did not make the ticket you sound so childish to say since your candidate did not get on the ticket either you will not vote or you will vote for the Republican party candidates.
Obama has only been defending himself after comments have been made either to degrade him or ridicule him.He took quite a long time before he fought back because he was more concerned to inform everyone of his platform. Come on people we all need to act intelligently and be adults in our actions and show respect for others as you would like to be respected. Some people have been so critical of Obama that they don't even know what his platform is and that is a shame.
Politics or not let us act civil and respectable.

No Hillary on ticket -- no vote from me. I wasn't going to vote for BO anyway. When Hillary did not win the primary, my independent status turned to John McCain, whom I've always liked anyway. But to pick Joe Biden who go all of 5,000 votes in the primaries is ludicrous. BO and his campaign are too stupid to get my vote.

HLB

I admire, respect and adore Hillary Clinton as well as Bill Clinton. I am one of their biggest supporters but Barrack Obama is the Democrats nominee for President. Those of us who supported her but refuse to vote for Obama or not vote or vote for McCain are showing totally disrespect and dishonoring what she stands for. YOU ARE HATERS!!!!!!!!
When Bill left office we had a balanced budget but eight years later we are TRILLIONS of dollars in debt. China owns more of our country than we do and we owe everyone with no foreseeable means of recovery. Yet you HATERS of Obama would rather see our children and children’s children suffer because you cannot let go of your pride and selfish agenda. Wake-up, it is time to move on. It is time to get our Country off its knees and restore it to its greatness by putting the Democrats back in the White House. Is it not what Hillary wants?
GOD Bless The United States of America, GOD Bless our Troops, God Bless Hillary Clinton and GOD Bless Barrack Obama/Joe Biden.
Peace love and respect,
HLB

I will not be voting for Obama. That was pretty shit sending text out at 3 am.even though that was the best ad of all.I am glad they enjoyed it as much as i did

Ted Baker

With Biden's selection the Dems now have two plagiarists on their ticket.

Jan

Obama has totally blown it. Shame, shame, vote McCain!!!
Lots of McCain Democrats out there. Only I and so many others I know are leaving the Democratic Party. They call themselves the inclusive, liberal party and yet stand silently by as women are trashed by their medid spokespeople and then trash McCain with horrendous ageist remarks. Democrats can go to Hell! All this, from a lifelong Democrat!

JH

And all those Americans who are willing to stand for Hillary write a letter to Obama and let him here your thoughts let him see and understand that what he has done is not right Let him know he has lost your vote so he can see that he wont win this election. But if he Had Hillary there with him he would win. Because their is a time for change and that is now were both men and women can build a real America not one made of guns and words of war and profit but an America made of Love real Love the Love God wants for all People to see and to understand..

JH

You Had your chance America to really show what you really are but you threw it away I believe Hillary should of been VP or President she is a strong woman and thats what America needs no more men that want to destroy the house holds of average Americans But a woman that will stand for her people and who wants the best for them God has a plan for you Hillary Clinton Just let him show you the way for he will guide you.

DEMOCRAT FOR McCAIN....!!!!

KC

I am voting for The Obama-Biden ticket from Ohio!

GO Democrats!

To those staunch Hillary holdouts I say they need to quit acting like little cry-babies and be the adults they are supposed to be. Get over your girls loss and support the Democrat Ticket, that is, unless you want 4 more years of the last 8 we have experienced.

She ran a terrible campaign and she lost! HA HA!

All I have to say to the hillary cult followers is BOO-HOO-HOO. To bad, Bubba Clinton will be left in the dust after Obama becomes President. No more influence. HA HA!

Get on board or stay home who actually cares what you do.

GO Obama-Biden!

GO Democrats, take back America!

mike

I Can't vote for Obama. Candidate should have been Hillary.
I'll sit this one out.

c c

obama did the oldest thing in book he finished using clinton and then disgraded her after she turn around and back him anyway. what do we call that "the rope a dope".move don't worry clinton my god says stand fast and more will be revealed.

I think this actually this will be great choice for Obama I was a bit skeptical but after Biden's speech this afternoon. I am sold Obama/Biden '08. Now its going to be very interesting who McCain will choose. I wonder will the media put so much curiosity into his pick. Or will the only media outlet that will hype it up be Fox News the fair and balanced network. Stayed Tune.

Clinton is still my one and only choice for the president. Somehow it's not a bad idea that she's not on the ticket. Isn't it?

vikielaine

Obama should have chosen Clinton. He will not get my family's vote.

JRS

Obama lost my vote! Go MCCain

Eve

We wanted to see Hillary on the tiket with Obama. Unfortunately it's all over, we will not support the democratic party and not VOTE for Obama. We will vote for John McCain.

mm hanners

My huband and I and many of our friends will not be voting in November because of Obama's choice. Hillary Clinton is our choice, we live in Michigan and voted for her and it didn't count as it should have. Obama just gave the election to the repblicans by his choice showing he didn't honor all the people that wanted Hillary, it just shows his arrogance and what kind of leader he is.
We are looking forward to another day when the democrats will wake up and elect another Clinton.

Joe Cannon

You got to be kidding me! All three of them are losers and there isn't enough brains between the three of them to run the country. Got help us all if, by luck, they happen to win.

peggy smith

i think hillery should have been president if not president then as many votes as she recieved she should have been vp.i do not want someone like this to be president of our great nation god bless the usa.

Hillary should have been VP. Obama is not a leader and his choosen running mate just proves this. Will not be voting for neither canidate.

Debbie Schoonover

I think Hiliary should of been the VP
